Minimum Wage to Increase on October 1, 2016

As previously reported, on October 1, 2016, the general minimum wage in Ontario will increase from $11.25 to $11.40 an hour. This minimum wage applies to most employees.
Minimum wage rates will also increase for the following employees:
- prescribed students: from $10.55 to $10.70 an hour
- liquor servers: from $9.80 to $9.90 an hour
- homeworkers: from $12.40 to $12.55 an hour
- hunting and fishing guides (rate will vary depending on hours worked).
