Catherine Peters Discusses Sexual Misconduct in the Workplace with Views on the #MeToo Campaign with The Globe and Mail
On December 5th, Hicks Morley’s Catherine Peters participated in a recorded Roundtable discussion as part of the #AfterMeToo symposium, which was organized by a group of entertainment industry participants, including Mia Kirshner, Canadian actor, writer and social activist whose willingness to share her personal experience of sexual harassment by entertainment mogul Harvey Weinstein has sparked a movement for institutional change.
Facilitated by The Globe and Mail, the Roundtable focused on discussing the legal and practical issues involved in addressing sexual harassment and sexual assault in the entertainment industry, with a view to creating proposals for actionable solutions. The Roundtable was recorded and will be made available online at www.aftermetoo.com.
On the following day, December 6th, The Globe and Mail hosted a public Town Hall on the subject which took place in Toronto, allowing participants to pose their questions and concerns.
The result of the #AfterMeToo campaign will be the preparation of a report to be released to the public, with a series of recommendations to improve culture, legislation and policy.
