The December 30, 2019 issue of Labour Notes® newsletter features an article authored by Hicks Morley lawyers Daniel Michaluk and Alexandra Mayeski.

In the article “Employers with Drivers Operating in the U.S. Take Note: New U.S. Drug and Alcohol Testing Rule in Force January 6, 2020,” Daniel and Alexandra review the requirements under the new Drug and Alcohol Clearinhouse program in effect as of January 6, 2020, which impacts Canadian employers who have commercial drivers operating in the United States.

Clearinghouse is a centralized database that will house information relating to drug and alcohol infractions by drivers who operate commercial moto vehicles in the U.S., and will be administered by the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
