Robert Little Quoted in Canadian Labour Reporter

Hicks Morley’s Robert Little was quoted in the March 11, 2013 edition of Canadian Labour Reporter in an article entitled, “Contracting out? It pays to read the fine print.” The article discusses a recent and unusual case involving two hospitals where the language in their collective agreement complicated an out-sourcing deal. The hospitals were in a position, where they would have to ensure workers displaced by a contracting out deal not only got full-time, unionized work with the contractor but also received a severance package from the hospitals. Robert stated, “one impact of these decisions is contracting out has become a much more expensive endeavor for the hospitals that are governed by a similar collective agreement.”
