Digital Marketing Specialist

The firm is seeking a Digital Marketing Specialist to join our busy Knowledge Management and Business Development (“KMBD”) department. The role reports directly into the Director of Client Development and Marketing. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, extremely detail-oriented, technically strong and have a strong client-service mentality. The individual will be primarily responsible for maintaining the firm’s website, intranet and social media presence as well as for executing e-mail marketing campaigns.

Accountabilities:

External Website and Firm Intranet

  • Maintaining and updating all aspects of the firm’s website and intranet, including posting and tagging content, in line with brand standards and best practices
  • Drafting and editing web content such as news, announcements and speaking engagements
  • Facilitate improvements in search engine optimization (SEO) in key areas

Social Media

  • Actively maintaining the firm’s social media presence on Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram
  • Creating, updating and providing support for lawyers’ personal Twitter and LinkedIn profiles, as required

E-communications

  • Executing all firm email campaigns, including client updates, newsletters, conference and/or social event invitations, etc., including design, testing and deployment
  • Updating marketing collateral such as lawyer biographies, practice and industry group descriptions (web, electronic and print)
  • Assisting with the firm’s email communications platform changeover

Other Duties

  • Testing any system upgrades and platform changes
  • Monitoring, tracking and reporting on key metrics for the firm’s website, media and social media, including individual lawyer’s media mentions and client update reprints
  • Providing event and marketing support including assembling marketing kits and assisting with client registration as required
  • Providing backup support for the Business Development Analyst including processing tickets in the client relationship management (CRM) system and extracting lists as required
  • Keeping current with emerging digital technologies, trends and best practices, to continually identify opportunities and make recommendations on areas for improvement
  • Sourcing and fulfilling promotional item orders as required
  • Sourcing and editing photos/imagery for web or e-communications as required

Required Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of HMTL and MS Office (including Excel)
  • Strong working knowledge of Dreamweaver, Google Analytics
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Analytics, Survey Monkey, MailChimp and Photoshop. Knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator, Vuture, Lexis Nexis Interaction CRM System an asset
  • Strong understanding of information management principles, information architecture and search engine optimization (SEO)
  • Experience using social media including Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and Hootsuite in a professional capacity
  • Highly organized with impeccable attention to detail and exceptional proofreading abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to emerging priorities, and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, or independently
  • Strong work ethic, reliable, self-motivated, positive and proactive
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), client service and time management skills (including the ability to meet deadlines)
  • Knowledge and experience with best practices in email messaging, anti-spam regulations (CASL), email technology, delivery mechanisms and list management
  • Demonstrates flexibility and is receptive to learning new skills, technologies and approaches
  • Able to represent the firm in a favorable and businesslike manner
  • 3-5 years experience in a professional services environment preferred. Previous law firm experience is an asset
