Knowledge Management Lawyer (Toronto)

Hicks Morley is Canada’s largest management-side labour and employment firm. We devote our practice exclusively to human resources law and advocacy. We advise and represent employers, including many well known corporations, local businesses and public institutions, on every aspect of workplace law. This includes labour relations, wrongful dismissal and other employment litigation, pension, benefits and executive compensation, education law, workplace safety and insurance, human rights, health and safety, pay equity and information and privacy. We are currently seeking a Knowledge Management Lawyer to join our firm.

In this role, the candidate will be responsible for monitoring case law and statutory developments; preparing and reviewing internal and external communications on legal developments; reviewing and developing precedents and other internal tools to assist lawyers in servicing clients; participating in the design and delivery of internal and external workshops and training; and identifying process, technology and workflow improvements to ensure the continued gold standard delivery of our legal services.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Strong proficiency with law firm technology, knowledge and experience management best practices;
  • The ability to work independently within an integrated, team-oriented environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a service oriented nature with a passion for excellence;
  • Sound judgement and strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Superior attention to detail;
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills;
  • Prior practice background in labour and employment law would be considered a substantial asset.
