Cassandra da Costa is a labour and employment lawyer in Hicks Morley’s London office. She provides advice to employers in both the private and public sectors on a wide range of labour and employment issues. This includes labour disputes, collective bargaining, grievance arbitrations, human rights, wrongful dismissal defense litigation, employment standards, employment contracts, and workplace policies.
Before joining Hicks Morley, Cassandra represented a major U.S. city, advising on collective bargaining, labour disputes, and employment and human rights issues. As a result, Cassandra has experience working with police services, utilities, and public sector employee unions. She also has an understanding of the unique political, cultural and socio-economic environment in which municipalities operate. In addition to her public sector expertise, Cassandra also has specific knowledge of the transportation and logistics industries.
By virtue of having practiced in the United States and now in Canada, Cassandra can help U.S. employers navigate the Canadian regulatory landscape.
Cassandra’s experience has given her a particular understanding of business needs and, in working with her clients, Cassandra takes a collaborative and creative approach in solving the complex issues facing employers today.
Cassandra received her Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School. She is licensed to practice in Ontario, Missouri, and Washington. Cassandra has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Boston College.
