  • Biography

Jeffrey Goodman is an employment lawyer, mediator and senior member of the firm’s litigation group. Jeff has acted as strategic advisor to his clients on a wide range of work- and business-related issues for over 30 years. He has a particularly high profile in the insurance and professional services industries.

Jeffrey specializes in employment, class action, trade secret, shareholder and oppression, commercial and defamation litigation. Jeffrey is regularly retained to act as an expert on Canadian employment and labour law in international and domestic litigation and is quoted on these topics by both the media and the courts.

Jeffrey is a prolific author and speaker, having presented before numerous organizations and conferences and having authored, co-authored and/or edited numerous legal texts, papers and articles on a wide range of employment, human rights and labour law issues. Jeffrey taught employment law at Queen’s University Faculty of Law from 2006 to 2012, and was a member of the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario’s Practice Advisory Committee from 2009-2015. Jeffrey has completed Harvard Law School’s Lawyers’ Mediation Workshop. Jeffrey is among a select few senior Canadian lawyers elected to the prestigious College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.

Jeffrey is one of the founding members of the firm’s Diversity Committee and is one of the firm’s representatives on a number of diversity-focused organizations. Jeffrey was also the co-chair of the organizing committee of the American Bar Association’s Thurgood Marshall Dinner, a leading diversity event where Jeff introduced the keynote speaker Madame Justice Abella of the Supreme Court of Canada.
