Mitchell Smith is a litigator in Hicks Morley’s Toronto office. He has litigated a wide variety of commercial and employment disputes including wrongful competition by employees and corporate competitors, shareholder disputes, and wrongful dismissals. Mitchell has also litigated restrictive covenant disputes, and breaches of fiduciary duties.
Mitchell has developed expertise in a variety of injunctions including the misuse of confidential information, restrictive covenants as well as labour injunctions. He has appeared in all levels of court in Ontario. Mitchell’s experience as a litigator allows him to provide practical solutions and strategic advice to employers.
Mitchell graduated from law school with First Class Honours and was placed on the Vice-Chancellor’s List for academic excellence. He clerked as a Judge’s Associate in the Supreme Court of Queensland, Australia and conducted legal research for a national project on employment law.
Mitchell previously obtained a B.Sc and M.Sc in biology.
