Biography
Amaiya Walters is a current student at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law. She is a recent graduate of Queen’s University, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Black Studies. She also completed a Certificate in Law from Queen’s, where her interest in labour and employment law was first sparked.
During her first year of law school, Amaiya volunteered through Pro Bono Students Canada at her local legal clinic, providing clients assistance in the areas of housing, immigration, and employment law. She has competed in two negotiations and four moots, one of them being the Lincoln Alexander Hicks Moot! She also served on the Lincoln Alexander Law Students’ Society as the Commissioner of Social and External Affairs, aiding in the organization of events and professional development opportunities for students.
Outside of work, Amaiya enjoys anything arts and crafts! She is usually working on a sewing project or a painting. She also speaks fluent Japanese and is currently working to improve her reading and writing skills.
