Biography

Lauren Viegas is a graduate of the HBA/JD Dual Degree Program between the Ivey Business School and Western Law. While completing her degrees, Lauren was actively involved in the Western community as a residence staff member for three years and she also led the Leadership & Academic Mentorship Program for first-year undergraduate students as a co-student coordinator.

During her first year of law school, Lauren furthered her interest in advocacy after interning at Western Law’s Dispute Resolution Centre and placing second in Western’s annual Torys Negotiation Competition. Lauren was also the VP of Marketing on Western Law’s Diversity Committee from 2021–2022. She further served as the Communications Officer and Co-President of the Labour and Employment Law Society during her final two years of law school. Lauren graduated as the recipient of the Eric K. Gillespie Professional Corporation Writing Scholarship, awarded in recognition of a research paper she wrote for a course on business and human rights law.

In her spare time, Lauren enjoys spending time outdoors, discovering new music and listening to podcasts about business, pop-culture, politics and sports.
