Biography
Evon Gayle is a labour, employment, workers’ compensation and human rights lawyer in Hicks Morley’s Waterloo office. He provides advice and representation to employers in the public and private sectors at both the federal and provincial levels. Evon’s practice includes a diverse range of matters, such as grievance arbitrations, employment standards and wrongful dismissal claims, civil litigation, workplace accommodation issues and workers’ compensation litigation.
Evon has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and various administrative tribunals including the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal.
Beginning in 2023, Evon will sit on the Board of Directors for the Ontario Bar Association in the position of Regional Director for the Central South Judicial Region.
Evon joined Hicks Morley as an associate in 2020 after previously completing his articles with the firm. Upon graduating law school, Evon received the J.W. Whiteside award in recognition of his outstanding service to the Faculty of Law and the legal community.
