The Opportunity

As a member of our Human Resources team, the Coordinator will help ensure the smooth operation of HR processes related to recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration and other confidential administrative tasks.

The ideal candidate will be a team player who is proactive and technically savvy with high attention to detail. The candidate will have a demonstrated interest in furthering a career in Human Resources.

Compensation

The expected compensation range for this position is $51,100 to $66,900 per year, commensurate with experience.

Essential Duties

Human Resources

  • Maintain and update internal documentation.
  • Coordinate recruitment efforts by reviewing resumes, conducting phone screenings, scheduling interviews, drafting documentation, monitoring background checks and supporting reference calls.
  • Support benefits administration by collecting documents, inviting plan members to enrol, helping track eligibility and working with applicable providers.
  • Draft documentation including offer letters, performance letters, compensation letters, administrative reports and more.
  • Assist with onboarding new employees by collecting documentation, inputting personal data into system and planning orientation.
  • Draft bi-weekly payroll related documentation and support with inputting related data.
  • Maintain HRIS by tracking absences, updating entitlement balances, responding to inquiries and maintaining accuracy of personal data.
  • Support workflow of the Legal Assistant Support Team; including daily assignments and Legal Assistant vacation backfill.
  • Support employee engagement by planning and coordinating events, employee gifts, recognition opportunities and more.

Other

  • Support and provide backup to Human Resources and Administration efforts as required.
  • Learn and use available technology to enhance work product including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Dayforce and Adobe.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • A background in Human Resources, ideally in a professional services environment. Previous law firm experience is an asset.
  • Payroll experience is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of general Human Resources principles and guidelines.
  • Must be a highly organized self starter who is solutions-oriented.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication with excellent attention to detail.
  • Technical proficiency and the proven ability to embrace and master upgraded, enhanced, and/or new technologies.
  • Success in managing competing deadlines and priorities while ensuring firm standards are upheld.
  • Client service oriented and the ability to anticipate needs and proactively contribute to firm initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and recognize when to consult colleagues and/or support resources when appropriate.
