Hicks Morley Welcomes Evan Howard as Pensions, Benefits & Compensation Counsel

Hicks Morley is pleased to announce that Evan Howard will be joining the firm as Pensions, Benefits & Compensation Counsel, effective May 4.

Evan’s arrival further strengthens our pensions, benefits and compensation capability—an area that is increasingly central to workplace strategy and risk management. For our clients, this means added depth on the issues that can have an immediate impact on plan governance, cost management, and workforce decisions, backed by a team that can provide seamless labour and employment advice and advocacy when challenges arise.

“Our clients are dealing with more complexity than ever at the intersection of pensions, benefits and workplace strategy,” says Natasha (Tash) Monkman, Chair of Hicks Morley’s Pensions, Benefits & Compensation practice group. “Evan’s addition strengthens a core differentiator for our firm and, most importantly, gives our clients even more bench strength to draw on—so they can move quickly and confidently, fully supported by the integrated advisory and advocacy support that is unique to Hicks Morley.”

Evan brings deep experience from both private practice and in-house executive leadership roles. Prior to joining Hicks Morley, he practised pensions and benefits law at leading national firms and then spent 14 years in house at a multi-employer, jointly sponsored pension plan, both as General Counsel and, most recently, Chief Pension Officer. He is a frequent industry speaker and is active in the profession as a director of the Association of Canadian Pension Management.
