Successfully brought a motion for summary judgment to dismiss claims by a former CEO relating to the termination of his employment. Successfully argued that the common employer doctrine also applies in favour of an employer in enforcing a release. Successfully defended decision at the Ontario Court of Appeal.

Represented multiple pension plan trustees in a class action relating to ownership of surplus pension plan funds.
Represented individual trustees of a supplemental retirement benefit plan in a class action arising from the partial wind-up of the plan.
Represented a provincial government in a class action challenging retiree benefit plan changes.
Successfully resisted certification of a class action for overtime pay brought by certain groups of investment advisors at a financial institution and had decision upheld on appeal.
Successfully had a class action filed by unionized employees following a plant closure struck out, and had this decision upheld on appeal.
Successfully defeated certification in proposed class actions brought by against a large insurance company.
Successfully represented a university in judicial review proceedings to protect the integrating of information-sharing policies in a unionized academic setting.
Had a grievance dismissed which alleged that a hospital had failed to provide a union and its members with benefit improvements as a result of the hospital receiving Employment Insurance Rebates.
Successfully argued on behalf of a university that an application for judicial review of an arbitrator’s decision, which had upheld a termination for cause, should be dismissed for delay.
