Represented clients in the education sector at interest arbitration with ETFO and OSSTF.
Lead counsel to multinational and national hotel chains and to hotel management companies in connection with all matters related to the workplace and guest complaints under all provincial legislation. Instrumental in negotiating collective agreements that exert major influence on the hospitality industry across the country.
Advised a trade association on collective bargaining issues arising out of a strike, which lead it to a historic no strike/lockout process that has resulted in a strike-free environment in that industry.
Negotiated intergovernmental staff transfer agreements arising out of the harmonization of the Ontario corporate tax regime and the establishment of the HST.
Successfully represented a professional sports league in having the B.C. Superior Court, the B.C. Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada (leave to appeal denied) dismiss a former player’s concussion claim.
Counsel to Ontario’s largest school board association in the transition to provincial collective bargaining.
Succeeded in upholding a favourable labour board decision before the courts.
Successfully defended a number of construction companies in labour board certification proceedings.
