David Gruber

David Gruber is a pensions and benefits lawyer in Hicks Morley’s Toronto office. He advises employers and plan administrators on regulatory, governance and compliance matters affecting pension and employee benefit plans.

David has advised employers on matters including plan design changes, de-risking initiatives such as annuity purchases, and plan mergers and asset transfers. He has assisted plan administrators with compliance matters and benefit entitlement issues including pension divisions following marriage breakdown. David has worked with plan administrators on the preparation of plan governance materials and the conduct of plan governance reviews, and he provides advice on fiduciary obligations in the pension sector.

Prior to joining Hicks Morley, David practised pensions law with a human resources consulting firm.
