Biography
David Gruber is a pensions, benefits and compensation lawyer in Hicks Morley’s Toronto office. He advises employers on plan administration, governance and compliance matters affecting pension and employee benefit plans, as well as compensation matters.
David has advised employers on matters including plan design changes, de-risking initiatives such as annuity purchases, mergers and acquisitions, funding issues, and plan mergers and asset transfers. He routinely assists plan administrators with compliance matters and benefit entitlement issues. David has worked with plan administrators on the preparation of plan governance materials and the conduct of plan governance reviews, and he provides advice on fiduciary obligations in the pension sector.
David also advises employers on the administration of group employee benefit plans and the design and implementation of incentive-based compensation programs.
Prior to joining Hicks Morley, David practised pensions law with an actuarial and human resources consulting firm.
