Gillian McCormick

Gillian McCormick is a labour and employment lawyer in Hicks Morley’s Toronto office. She is building a practice that includes providing advice and representation to employers in the public and private sectors on a wide range of matters including grievance arbitrations, human rights and accommodation complaints, employment litigation, labour disputes, and workplace health and safety.

Gillian obtained her Juris Doctor from Queen’s University’s Faculty of Law. While at Queen’s, Gillian acted as a caseworker at the Prison Law Clinic, representing inmates before disciplinary tribunals. She also participated in the Family Law Clinic, helping self-represented litigants complete court documents and navigate court processes. Prior to law school, Gillian earned an Honours Bachelor of Social Sciences degree in criminology (French immersion) from the University of Ottawa, graduating magna cum laude. She summered and articled with the firm before returning as an associate in 2024.

Outside of her practice, Gillian enjoys pilates, hiking, and travelling. She is fluent in French.
