Biography
Madeline Lusk is an employment and human rights lawyer in Hicks Morley’s Toronto office. She provides advice and representation to employers in the private and public sectors on a wide range workplace law, human rights and employment litigation.
Madeline is called to the Bars of Ontario and British Columbia, appearing before all levels of court in British Columbia, the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal, and the British Columbia Labour Relations Board. In addition to offering strategic legal advice and direct advocacy, Madeline frequently presents to employers and other legal professionals on current issues in workplace law.
A thoughtful listener and intuitive problem-solver, Madeline delivers client-centered, results-driven solutions to legal issues. Her background in social work further enhances these skills – before transitioning into law, Madeline earned a Bachelor of Social Work from McGill University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto. She also worked as a therapist and advocate for children and youth experiencing sexual and physical abuse, where she honed her ability to advocate passionately and effectively on behalf of her clients.
Prior to joining Hicks Morley, Madeline practiced at Western Canada’s leading workplace law boutique, providing comprehensive legal counsel to a variety of clients.
In her spare time, Madeline’s favourite thing in the world is cooking, followed closely by shopping for groceries. She’s also a devoted Toronto Raptors fan, staying optimistic through both the highs and (more recent) lows.
