Matthew J. Mihailovich

Matthew Mihailovich is a labour and employment lawyer in Hicks Morley’s Waterloo office and the chair of the firm’s Healthcare Practice Group.  He advises a wide variety of employers in both the public and private sectors on issues relating to their workplaces.

Matthew appears before labour arbitrators, in court, and before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal. He also regularly acts as spokesperson in collective bargaining.

Matthew is a problem navigator, strategic litigator and solutions provider. He delivers practical advice shaped by his experience and unique understanding of the issues faced by the firm’s clients. He is especially responsive and is prepared to do whatever is needed to deliver optimal outcomes.

Matthew works with numerous employer groups and often appears as a speaker, providing strategic and proactive human resources advice to employers and management. During his time with the Grand Valley Chapter of the HRPA, he held the positions of director of finance, president elect, chair and past-chair. He was also the membership director of the Hamilton Chapter of the HRPA for four years, and he maintains strong ties with the Hamilton community both personally and professionally.
