Biography
Avineet Kaur is currently enrolled in the JD program at the University of Ottawa. Prior to law school, she worked in Human Resources at a Nursing College in India and also founded and managed an English language school. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management.
While in law school, Avineet has worked as a student caseworker in the Tenant Division of the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic, assisting clients with housing-related disputes and tribunal matters. She has also served as a Treasurer on the Executive Team of LEAF Ottawa and volunteered as a mentor for first-year law students through the “Allies in Law” Program. She was a semi-finalist in the 17th Nelligan Law Moot Court Competition.
In her free time, Avineet loves learning new dance forms, watching cricket, playing board games, and going to escape rooms. She is fluent in Punjabi and Hindi.
