Haneen Bishara

Biography

Haneen Bishara is a first-year student of the H.B.A./J.D. Dual Degree Program between the Ivey Business School and Western Law. Prior to her enrollment at Western Law and Ivey, she specialized in globalization studies at the Centre for Global Studies at Huron University-College. In her second year, Haneen was awarded a research grant and pursued a research fellowship at the Centre for Undergraduate Research and Learning, where she later published an article on online political activism in diaspora communities.

As a law student, Haneen is involved in the pro-bono clinic, Community Legal Services, serving as a caseworker on civil, family and criminal matters. Additionally, she holds a staff editor position at the Western Journal of Legal Studies. Haneen represents first-year students in the Real Estate Law and Fashion Law Associations and serves as Vice Chair of the Christian Legal Fellowship chapter at Western.

She has a passion for mooting and has participated in numerous competitions, notably advancing to the finals of the Borden Ladner Gervais LLP/Cavalluzzo Labour and Employment Law Moot and winning the Hicks Morley Employment and Labour Law Moot at Western.

Outside of academics, Haneen is a long-time harp player with a longstanding dedication to music, and she remains actively involved in her church community, serving as a youth group leader and community volunteer.
