Biography
Haneen Bishara is a graduate of the HBA/JD Dual Degree Program at the Ivey Business School and Western Law. Prior to Western, she specialized in Globalization Studies at the Centre for Global Studies at Huron University College.
In law school, Haneen was actively involved in Community Legal Services and served as a Managing Editor of the University of Western Ontario Law Journal. She also held leadership roles as Vice Chair of the Western Christian Legal Fellowship and President of the Western Chapter of the Runnymede Society. She was also a recipient of the J.S.D. Tory Writing Prize for her research on academic freedom in the university sector.
Haneen is deeply engaged in mooting as both a participant and judge. She was a finalist in the Borden Ladner Gervais LLP/Cavalluzzo Labour and Employment Law Moot, won the Hicks Morley Employment and Labour Law Moot at Western, and represented her school nationally at the Laskin Moot in constitutional and administrative law. This year, she founded the Amicus Intervenor Moot, an individual advocacy competition focused on constitutional litigation. She also completed a semester abroad in the Netherlands focused on private and human rights law.
Outside of academics, Haneen is a classically trained harpist and remains actively involved in her church community.
