Biography

Nabila Farid is a graduate of the Lincoln Alexander School of Law at Toronto Metropolitan University. Prior to attending law school, she received a Master of Public Policy and Global Affairs from the University of British Columbia, where she graduated with distinction. She also holds a B.A. in Law and Society with a minor in Sociology from the University of Calgary.

Before pursuing law, Nabila worked as a policy analyst specializing in urban development and housing equity. She also served as an executive member of the University of Calgary Students’ Union, advocating to all levels of government on a range of student issues. Her background in regulatory policy and commitment to advocacy naturally led to her interest in labour and employment law. As a law student, Nabila volunteered as a criminal law caseworker with the Pardons Clinic and contributed to the law school community as a student ambassador and mentor to junior students.

She enjoyed competitively mooting in the Gale Cup and participating in numerous advocacy competitions, including Canada’s first Women’s National Basketball Negotiation (WNBN) Summit.

Nabila is fluent in Arabic. In her spare time, she enjoys pilates, attending basketball games and watching true crime documentaries.
