Hicks Morley’s Response to COVID-19
The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization this week and continues to pose a challenge for the global community, including impacting upon employment relationships and many business operations.
We would like to share with you Hicks Morley’s efforts to ensure the safety of our staff and clients, and our commitment to providing you with consistent legal services.
Hicks Morley’s Executive Committee is meeting daily to ensure the continuous monitoring of breaking developments. All of our offices are presently open for business. Although we continue to be advised that the risk of spread of the novel coronavirus remains low, in the interest of health and safety we have implemented a protocol surrounding travel for members of the firm, and are recommending that meetings be conducted electronically where possible. As a precaution we have also postponed some of our in-person client conference events scheduled in March and April.
Should the situation escalate, we are prepared to enact the firm’s Business Continuity Plan in order to be responsive to our clients’ needs should there be a potential closure of any of our offices.
As recognized leaders in the areas of employment and labour law, Hicks Morley is well-positioned to assist you in your compliance obligations, developing contingency plans and managing the health and safety of your workforce. We have developed a dedicated webpage as a resource regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) to assist employers in navigating the potential impact this pandemic may have on your workplace. Please feel free to contact Sarah Eves, Nadine Zacks or your regular Hicks Morley lawyer to address specific questions or if we can be of assistance.
