Stephen Shamie Quoted by The Globe and Mail on CFL Concussion Lawsuit

Stephen Shamie was quoted in The Globe and Mail in an article titled, “CFL fighting concussion lawsuit on ‘technicality,’ lawyer contends” on June 14, 2016. The lawyer for Arland Bruce, a former player in  the Canadian Football League, is trying to overturn the judgment the CFL won in March, 2016 in the B.C. Superior Court. In that case, the Court found that it had no jurisdiction to hear the case as it should have been determined under the grievance and arbitration process in the collective agreement.  Stephen, counsel to the CFL in the case, explains that the CFL is the first professional sports league to win a jurisdiction decision on a concussion claim from a former player.
