Stephen Shamie Quoted on Concussion Lawsuit Involving the Canadian Football League
Hicks Morley’s Stephen Shamie was quoted by multiple media outlets February 23, 2016 regarding the first concussion lawsuit involving the Canadian Football League. The lawsuit, launched by Arland Bruce, a former wide receiver for the B.C. Lions and Montreal Alouettes, claims his former teams and the league were negligent in failing to warn about the long term risks of concussions. Stephen Shamie is representing the former commissioner and the nine teams that make up the CFL and argued a jurisdictional motion in B.C.
