We Welcome Six New Associates to the Firm
Hicks Morley is pleased to announce that six new associates have joined the firm in our Ottawa, Toronto and Waterloo offices.
Shauna Bartlett is joining our colleagues and continuing her labour and employment practice in Hicks Morley’s Ottawa office. Shauna received her Juris Doctor from Queen’s University, where she was the recipient of the Queen’s Law Prize in Collective Agreements and the Vincent Principi Memorial Award in Labour Law. Prior to law school, Shauna completed her Bachelor’s Degree in history and philosophy at Queen’s.
Jamie Burns is joining our colleagues and continuing her labour and employment practice in Hicks Morley’s Toronto office. Jamie received her Juris Doctor from Queen’s University where she was the managing editor of production of the Queen’s Law Journal. She was actively involved in student government, worked as a student caseworker for the Queen’s Family Law Clinic and was a teacher’s assistant at the Queen’s Smith School of Business. Before attending law school, Jamie received her Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from Queen’s. Jamie summered and articled at the firm before returning as an associate.
Jordynne Hislop is joining our colleagues and continuing her labour and employment practice in Hicks Morley’s Toronto office. Jordynne received her Juris Doctor from Lakehead University where she acted as the first-year representative and president of the Law Students’ Association and worked at the Lakehead Legal Clinic. Jordynne volunteered with the Ontario Justice Education Network and the Lakehead Law Journal, serving as managing editor in her final year of study. Prior to law school, she completed a Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies with a specialization in human resource management at Western University.
Kayley Leon is joining our colleagues and continuing her labour and employment practice in Hicks Morley’s Toronto office. Kayley received her Canadian J.D. from the University of Windsor and her American J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy and was selected as an editor of law journals at both institutions. Kayley worked at the University of Windsor as a research assistant focusing on international commercial arbitration and international trade rules surrounding the carriage of goods cross-border. Prior to joining Hicks Morley, Kayley worked in Michigan at the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, in the Homicide and Violent Crimes Division.
Victoria McCorkindale is joining our colleagues and continuing her labour and employment practice in Hicks Morley’s Toronto office. Victoria obtained her Juris Doctor from Western University where she participated in a number of advocacy competitions and worked as a research assistant in the fields of labour law and human rights law. Prior to law school, Victoria earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto, Trinity College where she specialized in English and minored in political science. She then earned a Master of Arts Degree in English from York University.
Colleen Nevison is joining our colleagues and continuing her labour and employment practice in Hicks Morley’s Toronto office. Colleen obtained her Juris Doctor from Western University with distinction. While at Western, she was involved in a number of faculty groups including the Western Business Law Clinic, the Student Ambassador Program and two academic journals. Prior to law school, Colleen earned an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Waterloo, majoring in psychology and minoring in biology.
