Mari Maimets

Mari Maimets is an employment lawyer practising in Hicks Morley’s Toronto office. She advises employers in all areas of employment law including wrongful dismissals, employee terminations and reductions in force, human rights and the duty to accommodate, employment standards, and workplace policies and investigations. Mari advises both Canadian employers and U.S.-based clients with operations in Canada with respect to all issues related to the employment relationship. She has extensive experience with clients in financial services, technology, pharma/healthcare, retail/wholesale, and professional and technical services.

Mari has significant litigation and advocacy experience, having represented clients in proceedings before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Court of Appeal for Ontario and various administrative tribunals including the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal and the Ontario Labour Relations Board. She has represented employers in a wide variety of disputes including wrongful and constructive dismissal claims, disability-related claims, workplace sexual assault claims and executive compensation claims. She is dedicated to client service and works hard to formulate strategies that align with her clients’ business objectives.

Outside of her practice, Mari loves cooking for family and friends, spending time with her spouse and three children, and catching live theatre or music performances in the city.
