Biography
Matthew Healey is a labour and employment lawyer in Hicks Morley’s Toronto office. He provides advice to both public and private sector clients on a range of labour, employment, and human rights matters. This includes wrongful dismissal litigation, grievance arbitration, labour disputes, collective bargaining, human rights and accommodation, employment standards compliance and general labour strategy.
For nearly a decade before becoming a lawyer, Matt worked as a labour and employee relations professional for large public and private organizations in the university, construction, manufacturing, and retail sectors. Matt’s experience has conditioned him to consider the unique needs and nuances of each organization when providing sound and pragmatic advice.
Matt completed his J.D. at the University of Western Ontario where he successfully participated in several advocacy competitions. He also completed his Honours Bachelor of Arts in Law and International Relations from Carleton University, and his Masters of Arts in Global Politics from McMaster University.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys road trips and travel, walking his dog, and can be found enjoying Toronto’s restaurant scene to avoid his own cooking.
