Overview

The HRPA’s annual HR law conference is an invigorating gathering of human resources professionals and business leaders seeking to stay on top of changes to the HR law landscape. HR generalists, specialists, managers and directors will benefit from this conference’s focus on evolving legislative requirements and considerations in the workplace.

In the first session of the day, “Primer Ideas: Highlights to Classic Issues and Trends,” Anoushka Zachariah will review the new Employment Standards Act, 2000 regulation regarding licensing requirements for temp agencies and recruiters. Other topics in this TED Talks-style session include termination clauses, employee contracts, just causes, and damages and wrongful dismissals.

The last session of the day, “Open Forum: Ask Me Anything,” invites participants to reflect on the day’s learning. This highly anticipated panel discussion features experts—including Anoushka—who will address participants’ legal questions and will tackle prominent challenges in employment law.

This conference is pre-approved for 5.75 CPD hours and is accredited by the Law Society of Ontario. To view the full agenda and to register, visit the HRPA.
