WSIB Announces Relief Package for Businesses

The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) has announced a financial relief package which will allow the deferral of premium reporting and payments until August 31, 2020. Businesses which report and pay monthly, quarterly or annual premiums are eligible for the deferral. Specifically, the deferral applies to payments due on the following dates:
- Monthly: March 31, April 30, May 31, June 30, July 31, August 31
- Quarterly: April 30, July 31
- Annual: April 30
All payment obligations for Schedule 2 employers are also deferred until August 31, 2020.
No interest will accrue on outstanding payments during this relief period, nor will penalties be charged.
