George Vuicic Quoted in The Lawyers Weekly

Hicks Morley’s George Vuicic was quoted in the February 22, 2013 edition of The Lawyers Weekly in an article entitled, “Fed Court rejects strict test for ‘family status’ claims.”  The article discusses two recent cases by the Federal Court which has affirmed that employers may be obliged to adjust their work demands in order to accommodate their employees’ child care responsibilities. In the article, George notes that employers may not be required to accommodate all requests relating to employee family care obligations, but cautions that “[a]s an employer, to be able to argue [the defence of] undue hardship, you have to have solid evidence behind you to show exactly what the problems are. It can’t just be based on assumptions or speculation.”
