Biography
Andrew Movrin is a labour, employment and privacy lawyer in Hicks Morley’s Toronto office. He advises unionized and non-unionized employers across federally and provincially regulated sectors in both the public and private spheres. Andrew’s practice emphasizes the strategic management of workplace issues, providing proactive advice to minimize risk, and when necessary, representing employers before courts, arbitrators, and tribunals. He regularly acts in matters involving grievance arbitrations, human rights issues, and certification applications.
In addition to his labour and employment law practice, Andrew is an active member of the firm’s Information, Data Security and Privacy Practice Group. He frequently advises employers on their obligations under applicable privacy legislation and regulations and he regularly advocates before privacy regulators, bodies and tribunals. He is relied on by various public sector institutions to provide ongoing advice on how to navigate freedom of information legislation.
