Bill 101 Tabled: Would Change Governance and Operations of School Boards
Date: April 14, 2026
On April 13, 2026, the Ontario government tabled Bill 101, Putting Student Achievement First Act, 2026 for First Reading. The government states that the objective of the Bill is to strengthen school board oversight and accountability and ensure more consistent learning experiences for students.
If passed, Bill 101 would introduce a number of changes to the governance and operations of school boards in Ontario. Some highlights of the new legislation are available here.
