Shivani Chopra Quoted in Benefits and Pensions Monitor on Marijuana Accommodation in the Workplace

Hicks Morley’s Shivani Chopra participated in a panel discussion on the topic of Medical Marijuana in the Workplace at the Canadian Pension & Benefits Institute Ontario Regional Conference and was featured in the Benefits and Pensions Monitor. Shivani says that while employers will have to accommodate workers who have prescriptions for medical marijuana, the accommodation has to be reasonable. Consideration will need to be given to how and where employees will be able to use medical marijuana, and if it poses an occupational safety hazard.

The CPBI Ontario Regional Conference was chaired by Natasha Monkman. Read Natasha’s Message from the Chair.
