Overview

Systemic discrimination can manifest in any organization through seemingly disparate events arising from invisible yet ubiquitous biases. There are an increasing number of instances where employers and service providers are found to have engaged in a discriminatory practice against a broad collection of individuals on the basis of a protected ground.

Format

In this webinar we will discuss the following:

  • Patterns of behaviour, policies or practices that are part of the structures of an organization and perpetuate disadvantage
  • Carefully designed data collection based on protected ground factors that helps to prevent systemic discrimination
  • Best practices for navigating difficult conversations regarding systemic discrimination prevention and responses to potential systemic discrimination

Learning Objectives

The goal of the webinar will be to provide both employers and service providers with the knowledge and tools necessary to both pre-empt instances of systemic discrimination and effectively address any instances of systemic discrimination that do arise. Those in attendance will develop an understanding of how adjudicators assess the potential presence of systemic discrimination.

This webinar contains an interactive Q&A feature. A panel discussion will be built into the last 10 minutes of the session to address audience questions that were submitted.
