Overview
Effective April 1, 2024, the Community Safety and Policing Act (CSPA) will come into force, replacing the Police Services Act as the primary statutory framework governing policing in Ontario. This webinar will review the key changes to the statutory framework you need to know about, including those that impact upon human rights, diversity, governance and labour relations.
Many police services boards in Ontario are either engaged in or preparing for collective bargaining. This session will also briefly highlight recent settlements, awards and arbitrations in the sector, with a view to ensuring participants are aware of key bargaining trends and issues impacting upon negotiations.
Format
In this complimentary webinar, we will provide an update on these legislative changes and other key issues and trends impacting the sector. We will also invite discussion among participants regarding the issues impacting labour relations in their services.
