Overview

The WSIB return-to-work process is complex. Employers must navigate multiple issues such as meeting return-to-work obligations, managing claim costs and addressing potential concurrent employment law issues.

Join us as we discuss best practices for effectively managing these challenges.

Format

This workshop will include both instructional components and interactive components that will give attendees the opportunity to apply some of the tools and fundamentals they have learned. The workshop will include a panel discussion that will provide attendees the opportunity to pose questions to our team of experienced WSIB practitioners. Attendees will also receive helpful written tools that will assist them in managing the return-to-work process.

Audience and Learning Objectives

This workshop is designed for human resources and disability management professionals with a moderate to high level of experience managing WSIB claims. Those who are new to WSIB claims management are also welcome.

By the end of this workshop, attendees will understand how to:

  • effectively and proactively negotiate the return-to-work process
  • address conflicts and barriers in the return-to-work process
  • comply with employer obligations regarding accommodation, return-to-work co-operation and re-employment
  • address worker co-operation issues
  • identify and manage concurrent employment law issues in the return-to-work process
