Agenda
In the post-mandatory retirement world, it is not surprising that recent statistics show that the number of individuals over the age of 55 choosing to remain in the workforce is on the rise. As a result, employers are faced with dealing with an aging workforce which presents challenges not previously encountered.
The aging workforce presents new issues engaging a variety of human resources and legislative issues. There are strategies employers can utilize in dealing with their aging workforce while balancing their obligations under various statutes, including the Human Rights Code.
By the end of this CPD seminar, attendees will learn:

- How to navigate the minefield of performance management and the accommodation of older employees
- The legal issues and other considerations surrounding the hiring of older employees, and post-retirement rehiring
- Case law trends with respect to Human Rights Code damages in the context of wrongful dismissal claims
- How to approach transitioning older employees to retirement.
Our presenters will invite questions and remain behind for any informal discussions you may wish to have.
