Overview

Allegations of sexual harassment can arise in any workplace, at any time – and when they do, a poorly executed response can lead to significant liability. Ensuring your organization’s incident response strategy is effective will keep you in control of the situation and minimize the potential harms that can result. Join with peers from other organizations and participate in a scenario-based tabletop exercise and group discussion that will test your incident response smarts and provide you with practical tips and strategies that you can apply in managing your next incident.

Format & Tabletop Exercise

You are hired as VP, Human Resources at a mid-size company. One of your new hires alleges she was sexually harassed at an off-site industry event by the CEO – and before you can investigate, the incident goes viral on social media. What’s your plan?

A panel of Hicks Morley lawyers will facilitate this session as you work through a series of escalating facts to develop and execute a strategy. You will also learn key best practices from outside crises communications expert Karen Gordon (Gordon Strategy) to help you minimize and manage public relations and potential reputational harms – or avoid these issues altogether.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the program, attendees will gain an understanding of:

  • the pressure to act versus the need to wait
  • the need to challenge assumptions
  • how to manage your stakeholders
  • how to effectively plan, coordinate and execute a response
  • the best practices to adopt and common pitfalls to avoid

Our presenters will invite questions and remain behind for any informal discussions you may wish to have.

Please note that in order to maximize the experience of attendees, spaces in the workshop will be limited. We encourage you to register early to avoid disappointment.
