Allegations of systemic discrimination in the workplace, and in the service industry, are becoming increasingly common—and no less complex. Allegations of this nature frequently span a lengthy period of time, involve multiple individuals and engage a number of different grounds protected by the Ontario Human Rights Code.

In this Advantage CPD webinar, we will consider the following:

  • Best practices for investigating allegations of systemic discrimination including concerns about confidentiality and controlling the scope
  • How to manage the workplace—whether or not the allegations are substantiated—both during and after the investigation
  • When an individual might be able to properly proceed with an allegation of systemic discrimination before the Human Rights Tribunal
  • How to address allegations that gain media attention

Learning Objectives

The objective of this Advantage CPD webinar is to help our clients understand some of the unique risks and complexities which arise when investigating and responding to allegations of systemic discrimination. This includes how to minimize risk from when the allegation is received through to its disposition.

This webinar will include an interactive Q&A feature. A panel discussion will be built into the last 10 minutes of the session to address audience questions that were submitted.

Hicks Morley will endeavour to accommodate guests with a disability in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code guidelines and other applicable legislation.
